James Alan Cone

Hello! My name is James Alan, but I prefer to go by J.A. I was born and raised in Wilmington, NC, where I developed a love for fishing, surfing, and all things outdoors. Growing up a fan of the University of North Carolina, I had the privilege of attending UNC Chapel Hill for my undergraduate studies. I pursued a major in Business Administration and minored in Environmental Science.

After completing my degree, I began a career in the financial industry, where I spent three years gaining valuable experience. However, I soon realized that I desired a more intellectually stimulating and creatively challenging path. I wanted a career that would allow me to think critically, solve problems, and continuously learn and grow.

That's when I made the decision to transition into the world of coding. I enrolled in the Full Stack Web Development Boot Camp at UNC Chapel Hill, seeking a new and exciting challenge. During the boot camp, I learned essential languages and technologies such as JavaScript ES6+, CSS3, HTML5, SQL, NoSQL, React, and Node. Through several projects and hands-on experiences, I honed my skills in both front-end and back-end development.

In addition to my technical pursuits, I still embrace my love for fishing, surfing, and the outdoors. I believe that my passion for the outdoors fuels my creativity and brings a unique perspective to my work. With my proven problem-solving abilities, adaptability to change, and determination to contribute to my team, I am confident in my ability to make a meaningful impact and thrive in the dynamic world of fintech.
